I've been wondering. What is a decent CTR for a tech blog? The main source of the traffic comes from social bookmarking sites and other blogs. More than half of my visitors are linux users. I have very well blended ads but still its kind of low. I guess that tech savvy users don't clikc on adsense So, what's a decent CTR for a tech blog? Should I consider changing the ads of my site?
Tech related websites are VERY easy to drive traffic to, but very difficult to profit from because tech-readers are very ad-blind. You really have to try something different when dealing with a tech website.
You will be better off using a program like Chitika etc where you display ads on computer hardware for e.g.
Like Mr.Polo stated above, Tech blogs are very hard to get decent CTR. Either try Chitika (still prone to ad-blindness and techies know where to shop) or attempt to sell the ad space yourself (ala TechCrunch). You have to remember that most tech savvy surfers use some type of ad-blocking software so they probably don't even see your adsense ads to begin with.
