Hi guys, have you noticed the latest PR update on directories ? I checked around 10k+ directories and all I found out was positive changes in Domain PR and comparatively negative changes in individual sub page PR. Sub page PR : Not much variations to higher PR directories. Well most changes are PR1 > PR0 and PR0 > PR Grey Bar and lots of PR Grey Bar > PR0. Couldn't see even a little of PR0 > PR1 or PR1 > PR2 Overall there is far more PR Drop than PR increase. But with Domain PR, it looks very good. Lot of PR increase.
I have seen most of the directories, which have low PR value than High PR except a few of the best directories. But directory submissions are not that much of importance now a days..
I have gained inner PR1 for some categories in my directory, not widespread but it is there. So I think the value of my directory should be much higher now.....
My Linkroo.com site went from a PR3 to PR4 and the categories "Travel" and "Agriculture", which are dear to my heart , got a PR2. The site had been PR3 for a couple of years. I've greatly increased the quality of the links in the directory in the past year and I think that really made a difference. They are all "follow, index". I haven't done any link building for this site lately but get a few every week from the nice people who voluntary do a recip link. Hope this info helps.
I feel the opposite way these days. The only reason why people dont find its importance is that no one does it properly. Anyways congrats to all those who got domain PR back to top Golden days back...
I think this is G continuing to improve their algorithm. Are directory submissions really helping the web? Not at all, so they shouldn't have any significant effect on SERPS.
