DebateScience.com - Science Forum for Sale!

This Science Forum opened only recently (Sept 2006), but it has already almost 500 members and slowly starting to be a popular destination for scientists.

I am an owner and administrator of this forum and I am quite busy with other projects of mine and simply can't take care of it anymore.

There is lot of scientists around the globe using their knowledge, observations and experimentation in some specific field of science every single day… And I know, that many of them not only wouldn’t mind to share their knowledge and opinions with other scientists, but also with the general public. From hundreds of emails I have received within last couple of months (while administering another popular forum), I can see the main problem:

It seems that there wasn't simply, properly and nicely organized and easy to work with Science Forum around. So I started debatescience.com so scientists can engage in scientific discussions @ www.DebateScience.com and this forum makes the whole experience the best possible.

Perfectly organised: www.debatescience.com is based on wikipedia list of all science categories. It includes description for each category as you can see on the main page and also has a simple to navigate main science category list:

Anyhow, and that was my goal and plan! Aiming to make this new site appealing to scientists, but also to general public interested in different branches of science.

Now after little while (4-5 months) forum is still quite young and everything is fresh and new, but it already slowly started, and it's showing some promise.

But I am just way too busy and not able to look at the site for couple of days in row will kill the site eventually.

That is why I have to leave this great domain name and the whole site for someone willing to put in more time and make it a big success in this high niche science world.

I am selling the domain and it's content for only $500.
Which is I would say, pretty good for site which is already pulling google and yahoo trafic. Not it large number, but still, we get and average: 81 Visitors per Day.

Can you tell me why you have Total posts 575 but Total members is only 457?

 

It's like with every forum, members join, create a topic and leave waiting for someone to reply. Once someone does, forums sends an email about it and user comes back. In forum like lets say: www.goldenretrieverforum.com, which I am also running it was the same way and it needed a year to get from 0 to 5000 posts. Now in our almost third year, we have 5000 post every 10 days.
In scientific forum, there is simply way to many scientific disciplines and it just needs a time and someone taking care of it.
