Just curious if anyone else has been paying attention to the MS BrowseRank announcement. I have my own opinion on the subject that I wrote in this BrowseRank article, but I would like to hear if others feel the same way as I do? Can Microsoft, although maybe evil and vicious, force Google to change its PR practices, and if so, will Google be able to make the web more "surfer" friendly and less "Dollar" friendly? If there are any other people that would like to see a mightier Google competitor, please speak up.
Can't see the site? The link works fine for me, but here it is again ... http://seomyflash.com/tech-watch/38-breaking-seo-news/101-browserank
So, if you believe that PR will rule the internet world, do you think that someone out there can create anything better? Are we on the horizon of a more efficient way to index and structure web pages. At this point in time, I believe that Google's index is washed out and ragged ... There are so many options to defraud the system and relevant links are becoming harder and harder to find. For that matter, why is it assumed by Google that when I find what I am looking for, that I should only see pages that include specific links to other relevant content. What if I look up Ice Cream Sundae's, and after reading about them, i would like to read an article about peanut butter? Ice Cream Sundaes have nuts, but would Google consider a link to peanut butter relevant then?
