What’s your take on the economy and the environment? Which is more important? Which has greater effect on the world and the lives of people?

    LOL is this a joke?

    Try it like this:

    A) No economy. Great environment = S**T
    B) Great economy. No environment. = Even more S**T

There's not much debate on this.... Unless you are short-sighted.

I don't appreciate you being rude. There is plenty to debate about this. maybe you just have no thought or intelligence to even talk about this subject. This is actually a subject the Obama and Mccain had to talk about so next time please don't post if you don't have anything nice to say.

The economy is completely dependent on the environment. The products that consumers rely on come from the environment. As soil depletes in many regions of the world, the crops that make up our daily diets will become in lack. As these crops become fewer, prices will rise forcing many people to experience for the first time factors such as starvation and famine. Economies of many nations will decline as their work force starts to die off from these unfortunate factors. Problems with the environment will also affect many aspects of medicine. Medicines will not only become more expensive, but less abundant, which will pave the way for mass epidemics to devour complete populations.

Good insights itzball and I agree with you on this matter. Environment is more important than economy. I believe we cannot have a good economy if our environment seems to sabotage all the efforts of human being through natural disasters which is a result of human taking the environment forgranted

    LOL

Did you even read what I wrote???

I totally agree that the environment is important. So important that without it any economic paradise would be worthless. So important that I don't believe there is much to discuss unless you are short-sighted..

    Do you get it now?

Stop being an ignorant, obnoxious fool for a moment. Even if a great economy and no environment was worse than scenario "A", there isn't much we can do now that will change the outcome in the first place.

So with morons like yourself controlling our government, we'll have both scenario A and B.

I don't think ncz_nate truly grasps the weight of the words "no environment."

I don't think you grasp my point. Do you really think the degree to which we halt industry will have some drastic effect on the environment so much that if there WERE to be no environment at the current pace, our measly impact (or lack of) would somehow thwart it?

The air in the US is cleaner now than it has been in a long time. The 70's were the worst, with leaded gas and high sulfur diesel. Global warming/climate change (man made) is a lie. Going "green" is a fad for weak minded fools. Do some research and you will observe this for yourself.

It comes down to marginal damage to society and how to get entities to pay for their MDS. If you create a law that fines a corporation $1 million dollars for dumping into waterways but they reap $2 million from dumping all else equal they'll continue to dump.

    *sigh*

Yes, you know better than the climate scientists who spend their lives researching the topic.

It's amazing how full of themselves some people are. It never cease to amaze me how much disdain conservatives have for science. It amazes me how these people think their "just plain common sense" outweighs the research of experts. I'm referring to people who say things like "it was cold today in my town, this whole global warming thing must be a myth!" ... I mean seriously, if you look around at the insane world of right wing reality deniers, this is the kind of crap they actually think makes sense.

There is a boatload of scientific evidence to support my position. Would you like me to copy and paste some? I have so much at my disposal it would make your liberal head explode.

But let me boil it down for you: Global Warming Is A HOAX
