Death to the click here link

    Every once in a while I come across sites that still have click here links - flashback to 1997. What have you guys found to be more effective - keywords around the link or keywords as the link itself?

    Anchor text is more important even though you should really go for both.

    Click here links are useless. Ancor links are best.

    As said, in content links with proper anchor text is the best.

    The great thing about "Click Here" is that people will actually click it.

    People that use "Click Here" are not concerned with relevant links or getting
    better ranking, they want ACTION.

    Click here can be used around a link from usability point of view, but stick to anchors.
