Dear Google: What I HATE About Google Adsense

I've been getting really irritated with Google Adsense lately and have got to find a good alternative. Unfortunately I don't think there is a good alternative and Google knows it and will continue to throw their weight around until there is a viable option.

So Google, if by some rare chance you are reading this... here is why you are really getting under my skin:

First off, the whole "we will ban you..." thing. It's so fun to live in fear of having your adsense account being banned for something you either didn't do or perhaps a minor mistake you made BUT ARE WILLING TO CORRECT. Quit sending out your stupid robot emails and give us specific things we need to correct to comply with your TOS. On a couple of occasions I have received a warning, but when I replied nobody was able to give me ANY specific information! WTF?!? Obviously ban people who are going overboard to abuse your system...but people who are trying to create good content and stay within the rules...don't make them feel like they are walking on eggshells.

Second... smart pricing. What the hell is going on Google? One day I get great clicks, then everything goes down the toilet. If you are going to do this kind of stuff, LET ME KNOW ... so I can take your adsense down as it is an insult to all of the work I have done. Google, please give us some kind of information as to why our income goes up and down! We can't read your mind...please give us more data.

Anyway, those are my main concerns right now... anyone have anything else they would like to add to this? Or am I out of line here? :D

I agree with alot of what you've said.

Unfortunately things wont get better until Google have competition. Google said they were different, but in the end, they sold out over China and HR and I'm sure they will sell out again (or just buy everyone in the internet out) and rename it GoogleNet

I agree. Especially about #1. Even if someone didn't do anything wrong, they will always live in fear of having their account banned.

I agree with you... But seriously guys... Don't ever rely on Adsense for your basic income. There are a lot of people who do so and I have seen such people suffering.

Above of all, We seriously need an alternative :D

If you don't like it leave. Simple as that. They are a business and they WILL run it as they think is the best way to run that business... This is Google is a dominate power in the online world, because they know how to run THEIR business.

I totally agree 100% with you i am no longer a user of adsense i was banned for disallowed traffic unfortunately my site had an affiliate program so i cannot control the traffic i was receiving.

I would love to find the adsense alternative we all need so desperate read my other thread and see my lack of success with alternatives to adsense.

Actually this is still your fault. You should've not put the Adsense where the affiliate link is located simple solution...

While I respect Google's right to run their business the way they wish, I think you really have some legitimate suggestions here. Have you tried sending this to Google? I have a sense that they really do appreciate such observations even though it may take them awhile to implement changes.

There definately needs to be a way to cancel (or pay for) an accidental click on your own ads. This would help Google in detecting the real cheaters and would also have the added benefit of making a lot of nervous publishers who sincerely wish to play by the rules a lot calmer.

One simple question. If Google has the technology to trace "bad" clicks, why dont they have the comparatively simple technology to remove them? YPN does this automatically and I cant wait until they are released globally.

They might of been apart of some sort of "paid to surf" program, probably bought one of these cheap advertising packages promising thousands of visitors - people are actually just shown a load of websites through paid to surf software. This isnt good quality traffic and Google can apparently catch it.

smart pricing is a bitch and I want to add to your list

    3) chaging ads when the content remains the same. One day I have decent 30c ads, two days later the ads change and I am getting 03 cents per click

i agree with all that you have to say.

i realllllly fear the "you have been banned from adsense" email every morning when i check my email... i hope it never comes...

they seem to be banning a lot of publishers for stupid reasons. no one wants their account suspended and 99 percent of publishers know the rules and live by them... yet more and more people are getting banned.

i wish i could get into YPN because i would much rather be with them than with google. except they never accept anyone.

Have to agree with you here on what you have said I think google knows they have the upper hand in the market there is not really any cpm company out there that can give what google gives but i do hope google changes i hate the email thing it would be better if you could phone them and find out what is going on there is many people who are using YPN saying its as good as google if not better but its only for USA I hope when it does become for the UK and rest of world that things change and gives google the kick it needs to change I cant comment on YPN as i aint used it i can only go from what i hear but i hope this is the one that either take google on head to head or gets better!

Google gets 25% of all online ad money, the competition is nowhere in site.

There is an alternative. Not quite as big, and mostly business people at this point, but growing in leaps and bounds, and I'll tell you why. Upstarts who can't afford Adwords can get payper click traffic, basically for free.

    www.SearchBigDaddy.com/mrdenhamswife

they are doing in the 10's of thousands of searches, compared to googles 100's of thousands it isn't much, but it's growing, and keywords are getting snatched up like crazy. probably some people searching just to get credits, but hey it's a start.

So they give you $50 in PPC credit and one free top position keyword when you sign up, and free members get $1 per search. You can also earn PPC credits from Blogging. (I've amassed a PPC fortune like that, and even gotten some traffic)

There is a paid upgrade, where you can make money referring people. Feel free to check it out. Go join, because the more searches you do, the more likely you are to see one of MY ads. :D

I'll second that but I will also add that with so many scammers online trying to tap into Google's pockets and their clients pockets they have to be somewhat over protective of their ROI.
