    You can add some other keywords like cricket news, Sri Lankan cricket News and your site main Title.. According to search engine guidelines Title should be max 65 characters long not more then 65 characters..

    You are dealing with a very competitive Niche there....make sure you check the PR of your top 5 competitors on Google. If they are above 3 on average...move on to something else

    It's all about SERP's competition. Targeted keyword in title and description won't give You high ranking. Build links to get higher positions.

    A good title doesn't guarantee first spot in Google. If it were that easy, nobody would do off page optimization.

    By the way, you are in the first page when I search for Sri Lankan Premier League T20, but way down.

    As one of the posters above me has said, do some research on the keywords most likely to be searched during the event. Pick up some where you could rank ( ideally long tails) and use them in your title.

    Get some links. Buy links or do some exchanges, but get some links.

    Links are seo juice that any site needs...
