Just a quick question: If people looking for our services have a "low budget" -- and therefore expect us to work for starvation wages -- why can't we have a "low budget" as well, and therefore not be able to afford to work cheap? In other words: PLEASE stop working for crumbs, tossed at your feet. Do not respond to "I need a $5 Logo" ads and the like. When you do, you decrease the fair amount that can be asked for not only yourself, but others as well. You also (most likely) contribute to garbage designs that litter the web-- because only so much time can be spent on a project for a few dollars (unless you live in your mom's basement, and have no expenses -- but most of us have financial obligations). Yes, I realize that we are, at times, price-competing with one another -- and that's understandable in any business -- too a point. But you ultimately shoot yourself in the foot when you advertise your skills at self-destructively low prices. Let's all play fair on this forum, and do the best job we can for our clients, at a fair price. It's a win-win for all concerned.
Wordplay, nice post! I agree with you totally. However, problem of appropriate incomes is very urgent and painful not only for designers, but for programmers and SEO specialists too. It's very important to know what's your price!
I like your post and agree with you. But what is your budget?

www.mediaspin.co.uk
