Hey guys, Is that a good choice? I rank literally #2 for a hard core key phrase on google that gets 1400 uniques a day and over 5000 page views....but only pays me $20-25/day! Kinda low. Im heavily considering affiliate marketing but don't know where to start. Does anyone have light to shine on me? thanks in advanced
It depends of course. What kind of keyword are you ranking on? If the keyword is "cheap flighttickets", of course you might make alot of money being affiliated with an cheap airline company.. I think it's an good idea, so why don't your try it out for a couple of weeks/months ?

IMHO Yes. If you have a good, popular site with targetted traffic it is best to move away from adsense IF you can find programmes that would appeal to your user base. If you do decide to take your adsense off, it might be a good idea to try and create a mailing list of all the visitors that come to your webpage, then you can e-mail them with affiliate offers.

Do both, in fact what I'd say is do adsense, find a place where the CPA ad would work , (do some testing) and also add a cpm banner. You can easily double or treble your daily earnings.
You are right that web hosting are good affiliate programs, but the person has not given his site so how do you know it is webmaster related. If his site is a site that shows celebrity images, then the chance of a web hosting sale from that site is very low and he / she would make much more from Adsense. Personally I think you should say with adsense for a while and just join 1 or 2 affiliate progams and put them on the pages aswell, if that makes you site look overcrowded then scrap Adsense ads and do some trials with some affiliate programs for a month or 2 or a little longer and if it doesn't produce the same sort of income as Adsense, then go back with Adsense.
Simple way around this - check out what the adsense sellers are selling - and maybe there is option for you to sign up with them as well or find even better deal.
To be honest, i don't understand why people are still doing adsense or some other PPC. Affiliate marketing is the best and you will earn more.
split test. find you highest earn adsense page and unit. see what advertiser are number 1 and 2 the most. search for affiliate programs for those advertiser "or competitor". choose affilaite text link, and put them in the same space as the adsense units and push the adsense units to the bottom of the page. wait 2 week, check the result.
