I am running a PLR membership site and a customer emails me and says that they just realized they were being charge through paypal for my membership, but does not remember signing up for it. They signed up 4 months ago and are requesting 4 months membership price be returned to them which is ~$80 My feeling is to go down the middle and refund them 50%. I mean the person had four month to realize it, I can't help it if they didn't utilize the membership or don't remember signing up for it. I certainly didn't force them to sign up. What does everyone think about this? Would you give the person all their money back or just half of it or none?
You don’t return jack. They signed up, and agreed to the service. Even under Visa regulations you can prove that they had been paying for the service over a couple months. So that means they can not say they did not know about it. However as you pointed out your with PayPal. The customer can get your PP account closed easy. I really do recommend that you move very quickly, and start getting your users under your own merchant account for more control, and power to fight for your rights as a service provider. End of the story is that people are going to try many methods to get you to give them something for free!
I wouldn't refund his money. He had to initiate the signup, right? You say, "My feeling is to go down the middle and refund them 50%." This is NOT something to be done by "feeling". Don't you have a refund policy clearly stated on your website? Jim
I'd refund 100% and get it over with as quickly and painlessly as possible. Otherwise they'll complain to PayPal, who will probably take their side. It's not worth the aggravation. (If there's no refund policy on your site, get one on there ASAP)
