Offcourse i guess its ok. Use paypal to process the payment or escrow... which is a better option as u pay the escrow people and they will pay the client..

Mostly it wont be a problem i guess

If you keep all documents clear and making the transfers officially, then there will be no troubles I hope.

By-the-way, won't you find someone near you to do that task?!

Many people in India deal with Pakistani companies. You know, in Mumbai, in construction projects, most contractors use Pakistani cement instead of an Indian one. Its called "Hathi Cement" or something like that. Its cheaper and of better quality, they say.

So, if they can deal with Pakistani companies, so can you...

But to tell you the truth, I'd be wary of Police. Most policemen are crooks in uniform. It would be better to keep your eyes open... and be careful...

Dont worry about it, its not even a risk if the company is well known and has been in the business for a while. Pakistan and India have always had "bad" relations, that however didnt stop the trading that is going on between the two countries.
If they are trusted, stick with them and good luck.

Look, it does not need to make you confused. If that company has good reputation why don`t make a deal with them. Maybe you will be really glad after job is done ;)

    Thanks!

I think thats ok. There is nothing risky in dealing with a company in Pakistan. After all that company has had no contributions in the current as well as past relationships between India and Pakistan.

    Thanks.

    I'd be honest here -

I've known Pakistanis in the past and have worked with them extensively as well. But the deal has never crossed $1k worth of work which was paid out by moneybookers or through some sites like GAF. Great people to work with and overall I have many friends now.

However, if you're a company and you're about to begin ties with a Pakistani firm. I must tell you that you need to get your CA involved. Tell him why it is important for you - and why you need it. A copy of the LOI may be submitted to your local police station along with your CA's signature in it.

Official bank transfers to Pakistan AFAIK are not allowed. Money transfers are not allowed straightforward owing to certain Foreigh exchange limitations in both countries. The govt. was keen on increasing Indo-Pak trade but the recent terrorist attacks bought it all to a standstill. I recommend calling up the Pakistani Embassy and asking for further information on a possible trade.

As always, there are workarounds - like Moneybookers, Egold, GAF etc.

There is no such problem in it .. I am myself Pakistani and dealt with loads of Indians but never did wire transfer or something .. I agree with n00bmaster .. You should pay him/her via moneybookers or some websites like gaf, rentacoder, odesk or so on ...
    Thanks

You have no idea what you're on about right? Where did politics and business come alongside here?

Economic problems are different and need to be checked accordingly. Also, politics and business have always been together. Idiot!

@OP - Plimus workaround sure sounds OK

    Regards

Danish - read the full thread before replying :)

He is not asking if Pakistanis are good people to deal with - he's asking if at all it's plausible to have a deal between two companies across India and Pakistan.
