I have some pages that i deleted and they are still indexed. I removed them from my sitemap but that didn't work.

    Any Ideas?

It will take a while for them to be dropped from Google- Make sure you dont have other pages linking to the removed pages.

    Hope this helps

404 pages will hang around for quite some time but they usually lose rank almost immediately... nothing to worry about too much...

But if it concerns you... there is a url removal tool within the google webmaster tools... it even supports adding back accidentally removed urls from what I can remember...

Sign up on google webmaster tools and use the URL removal tool, if you want to speed things up, or you can simpley wait and Google will eventually remove it anyway. ;)
