Dead iPod

    Please can someone help with the following.

    I updated my ipod with the 2005-02-22 software and my ipod is now dead.

    When I try to "restore", the result I get is "Firmware update failure. Disk write error".

    I have tried to reset the ipod by holding down the Menu + Sellect button, but all I get is a file with an exclamation mark in front of it.

    The the ipod is offically buggered.

    Can anyone help.

    Sounds like a problem with the hard drive in it to me... still under warranty?

    Yes it is only about 7 months old. I think the warranty is for 12 months.

    I would just get a replacement with the warranty... then you get a brand new one (with new a new battery too). :)
