My personal blog, I once was #1 for several key phrases, and had a PR4. Now, I show NO inbound links, PR0 and not on the radar screen when searching. What could have happened, and what can I do?

No, I really don't promote it very much as it's mostly personal stuff. I really don't understand. I don't display any ads or anything on it!

I would have to guess it was flagged for some reason. Duplicate content and illegal activities are the only reasons I can think of.

Its possible that some of the IBL(s) were devalued.

Blogs often get their rankings from being quoted/linked by other people,

    if

the pages on which where linked have been deleted by the other people

if the pages your where linked on have lost page rank

if the links have simply being removed

all could cause loss of link power, loss of pr, de indexed ,

You do really have to actively promote a site if you want something from it

Unless, you're really in demand an others effectively keep promoting you, i.e. celebrity

Does the site: command show any pages. If it does, you probably aren't banned.

I had several very good links that brought in a majority of the traffic, and I had probably close to a thousand inbound links. Not actively promoting it I might expect a slight drop in PR but not a 0 and dropped from the index!

Well I think I figured it out. Looking around on Google Webmaster tools, I found that when the crawl came around it got 403 errors. I guess Dreamhost let me down when I needed my site up the most.

it may just be a temporary glitch, it does happen in Google sometimes, wait a day or so and your serp's and pr may be back to normal.

    fingers crossed for you :)

What is it showing in your Google webmaster account?

It may be to do with the PR update.

I am trying to upload the verification file, and did so. After attempting to verify, it's saying it's getting a 403 error. Any idea why?

Very bizarre getting an access denied error, same thing happened to me with an autoblog, i put it down to crap content, but if you have an original blog i see no reason why it should get dropped from G. is your 403 error server related?
