you can send the reconsideration via the google webmaster tool panel,
    For my own experience,
One of my site was deindexed for over 2 years,
And finally swich to another new domain. ;)

Yes it can be tough recovering from a Google ban. They do not necessarily tell you why your site was banned. You should fix anything spammy and remove any bad outgoing links, and then submit a re-inclusion request. These days it probably takes much longer to get a response regarding re-inclusion.

I would just try to send a re-evaluation request or just put it on Digg (if its not already) and see if it will get indexed again. Google is very weird about things like this.

Well just build up some backlinks for it and Google will reindex you in no time. Social media/articles are the fastest way.

    Have you doublechecked that?

If de-indexing really is the case, then I guess you will have to do a comprehensive analysis of what you have been doing seo-wise (both on-page and off-page). Tons of reasons may be possible, no way it can be evaluated off-hand.

If you are sure that your site has been delisted, read through the google webmaster guidelines. After you have read through the guidelines, find a blog by Matt Cutts. Matt is one of the main people in Googles webspam division. He has some good post on his blog that deal with "why" your site might have been delisted.

In your google webmaster tools there is a way to "Submit for reconsideration." There is a youtube video on Matts blog that talks about how and when to resubmit. First, you have to understand what you did wrong to be delisted. Fix those problems. Then, when you send in your reconsideration letter, explain everything in detail. Explain what you did wrong - or what you think you did wrong - the actions you took to fix the problem, and go from there.

You can start by following the google webmaster guidelines.

Some times google deindex our site if we dont update regularly. I think something goes wrong with your On-page. Over optimization may also be the reason if your domain is new. Please go through your site on-page once and send reconsideration request through google webmaster's tool.

Try out checking the cache on different data centers and use Google webmaster tools to find any major issue.

Did you recently send a bunch of backlinks to it at once?

Hmm, I think it can be due to google update or some sync-ing between their data centers. It also happened to my site but was back after 5 days... If you really cant wait maybe you can try to apply for reconsideration but i haven't done this before

Add your site to Google Webmaster Tools, check what is the problem after a few hours (if any), and submit a reinclusion request via the system.

its hard to get in to google once banned. Even famous website like squidoo has faced google slap but has come back with bang. As with any other question related to google you can only guess.

it seems weird that google would take you out of its index... the worst I've heard is that you lose a high rank for a particular keyword. Are you sure you were taken out?

If it is so, it is highly probable that you have been banned. And if that is the case, then find out why and correct the situation. Resubmit your site after you correct it.

if you type in my domain it wont show the first page.. 2 days ago i had 14,000 pages indexed.. now i have 9,000

I am actively using google webmaster tools and it says nothing.. it says I am indexed and all is good but this is not the case...

I have changed a couple things and im hoping I will be re-indexed.. i sent them a re-inclusion request but doesnt seem to be doing anything.. my site can not live with just yahoo / msn ranking alone.. I have changed nothing.. Updated regularly as usual..

So google is just hating on me. Sunday will be the 1 week period and we shall see what they say for my ranking of keywords :(

Thanks for everyones advice thus far.

dropping 5k images isn't getting your site deindexed, it's just google redoing their index, they might see the 5k pages as duplicate content for other pages on your site, so they have removed it. putting in a reconsideration isn't going to help as your site is still indexed.
