On DC - http://216.239.39.99 - everything is back to normal for me... Exactly as it was before Feb 2nd. My keywords are ranking in the exact spot. I checked about 10 keywords... How long will it last? No one knows. Very curious. I thought I would post as it may give hopes to others. Good luck.
That DC still shows me at #2 for my number 1 keyword. I was in the 50's before this update. When doing a few refreshes I do see the bottom 5 on page one shift around.
Here is an update of the table I have been keeping for one of my keywords. This table has been a record of one pages placemment across ALL of the Datacenters at different intervals throught the last 4 days. Datacenter Results February 2005 Here is a comparison I did with the Keyword Analysis Tool this afternoon at 2m. I selected 3 different Datacenters and searched for my site and keyword. You can see the changes in the Top Ten in the results BUT also note (which is very unusual) the differences in allinanchor for the same sites but on different Datacenters! Keyword Analysis Comparison 3 different Datacenters My site was at... position #99 allinanchor#31 position #94 allinanchor#12 position #6 allinanchor#2 Caryl
This is crazy. MSN search is so much better then this now. They update daily and are consistent. No sandbox, no google bombs.
This DC unfortunately seems to have synchronized with the others now I was hoping it would be the other way around.
I think the mighty G is in for some major shakeups once MSN starts marketing it's search and goes with it's own PPC system. I'm using their search engine much more lately as the results are more relevant. I just wish I could figure out how to optimize for it without hurting G or Y results. Hank
MSN have already started marketing its search engine. I've seen quite a few TV ads here in the UK for it already. I agree with you regarding the search results. They do seem to be better than Google's results right now. And, no, I'm not just saying that because my msn rankings are much better.
I can't agree at all with that. MSN is not very useful for things that do not have optimization. My first try, and a quality example would be a search for: dodgeball classes los angeles On Google, you get a list of useful links that actually ARE related to this- on MSN, wel- just look at the results.
Chromate: Funny you mention that - I JUST now saw an ad for MSN Search while watching Fox Sports UCLA / UA basketball game. The fight is on! While I'm a big open source fan, after having been in this industry (tech) for 25 years is that once Microsoft puts their mind to something, look out. I think Ballmer is wanting a chunk of that G quarterly revenue and is going to do whatever it takes to get it. Hank
Haha- I just thought of a unique activity that would probably be difficult to find classes for and google happened to provide a much better answer
