dboz categorys.

    is there anyway to get the DMOZ categorys database? It would help with the start of my directory

    The whole DMOZ database is available through RDF file. You can import both the category and the listings.

    Here is information on how to obtain the RDF. Make sure you comply with the license terms. One area, in particular, that directory owners seem to make an error on is "($cat should be expanded to be the path to the category containing the data being displayed, e.g. "Arts/Movies")" - so I wanted to call your attention to that requirement.

    Definition of RDF: Acronym: Resource Description Format. This is the format in which the ODP data is made available for download. Approximately weekly the "RDF dump" is made. This is when new files are generated. During this time editors with catmv abilities are unable to move/rename any categories.
