Daylight savings Australia = WTF is going on?

I've just noticed that XP has decided that it's an hour earlier than I thought.
The TV is still showing programs that correspond with the time on my (mechanical) wall clock.

Has Victoria switched back to non-daylight savings time?

Or is this just a problem with the the space-time continuum :p

I went on a reasonably serious bender this weekend, but I didn't expect results like this! :D:p

I couldn't be stuffed to read the entire articles... but there's more info here and here.

I wish we could scrap daylight savings. Or at least stick to the same dates every year!

All I know is UK/Ireland is an hour later now for Daylight Savings (even though the US switched forward weeks ago).

Are your setting set to a US time zone (Even though the clock was set correctly)

That would explain it not changing as it already did weeks ago

I don't know where you got 3/30 from (which is today) ... but that site says that 2008 daylight savings end on Sunday 6 April 2008 (3.00 am). XP thought it ended TODAY.

I'm glad that my PC isn't controlling my life support system :p

I'm not exactly sure which part of Australia Melbourne is located, or what time it is there - I'm in the U.S and 3/30 at 3am was 3 hours ago.

You're not sure what time it is here? Well that makes 2 of us! :D
Nah... I've got it sorted now. I think it was just that XP (and me!) didn't know that the AU daylight savings dates had changed. My cell phone and PDA both kept on ticking at the correct time.

Melbourne is in Victoria (third line in the first post) :)

3am was 19 hours ago here. We're always one step ahead down here :p

Haha i heard about his on the news here, as you said the daylight savings times had changed, but all electronics the settings had remained the same causing lots of confusion here.
