Hey guys, What you opinion on this. There are so many dating website out there it's just nuts. I did a little research and it must be something like a thousand. Is it really that profitable? I know plenty of fish is a one man operation that's making tons of money. Isn't the Internet saturated with dating site? And some of them are just plain xxx sites. And then I came across this video dating site called, myvideocupid where you have to upload a video instead of pictures. I can see why that could be more handy, because you see more of a person in a video than only form a picture. I talked about online dating with a couple of my friends and some say, "man that's just sad". Or "nothing good ever comes out of meeting someone on the internet." or "it can never replace actually finding love in real life." Then I did some research and apparently 40 million peeps in the US alone are on online dating. Wow. Let me say that again. Wow. I should start a dating site myself. What do you guys think of online dating?

I've never used a dating site but would if single. I was just thinking of this recently actually, starting one for a specific area, as I hear lots of complaints from friends that people they meet online through these websites are too far away. Perhaps start one just for your local area?

I think if your starting a dating site now, it needs to to be a targeted local one instead of an national or country one.
I think the dating market right now is saturated with sites that get into the industry for the wrong reasons. I think money is the wrong reason to go into this industry. Yes you have to pay the bills, but that should came second to bringing people together I got into this industry because when I was single I could not find a cool dating site that met my needs, believe me I looked high and low. So I eventually I created one. This site has truly become a community and is not all about ego trips of how many emails a member can get. We actually encourage members to respond to even other members that they may not find attractive, because you can always add them as a friend. I know of some dating sites that guys feel so frustrated because the women simply do not respond, that I think defeats the purpose of investing time and energy looking for a date. Trust me when I say, rejection feels very real even online. If you are single by all means check us out.
I think dating website is a good idea.but we should notice that we don't get fooled by some "professional liars".maybe this online community provides an opportunity for them to cheat more ppl and get money.then run away...
People are always looking for a new dating site, it's like browsing stores for your favorite t-shirt. Unless you find that shirt you want you'll keep looking everywhere.
I think if I were to create a dating site, I would create a local dating site for my city. I would then advertise my site by putting up posters, handing out cards, and by word of mouth. SEO is tough, and I don't think I would want to start all over on a new site. I'm busy enough doing SEO for may existing sites. As for using a dating site, I would definitely be using a few of them if I was single. Guys and girls don't realize how easy it is to meet people in today's world with the net.
My opinion ? It is one of the worst ideas possible . The idea of a dating site fails from it's conception .
There are way too many dating sites. The difficultly ranking for those sites is very high. I would find something else.
It helps to use a few to get an idea of what's missing from the current offerings. Then, deliver one that provides whatever it is. You're going to have to be creative though, too many of them look alike these days.
