Hello, While searching for dating software, I found a lot of information that is confusing. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1405573&highlight=wazzum The internet is riddled with shill/false reviews on software solutions. Seems there is an international war going on between the Russians and Americans. I'd just like to cut through all the bullshit and get some honest reviews. I am willing to pay good money for good software but deciding what is "good" is the problem. I would greatly appreciate any real/honest reviews or experiences. Thanks.
Hi, i am admin on 2 similar projects using dating scripts or community scripts. If i can give you a personal advice you should stay away from abledate it is the most buggy piece of crap i ever seen. I have spend 700 usd on the script + 500 usd modifyng it. It isnt flexible at all , if for some reason you need to change your domain it wont work because it's linked to your IP and if you do it you are screwed and must pay 300 usd to get a multilicense. I am working since nearly 1 year on that script and i cant improve it. Maybe try Phpfox ( 300 usd i think ) or Boonex Dolphin(free with branding). The last version of dolphin seems impressive. I worked with those 2 products and had no trouble at all. Hope this could help you. If you need info feel free to contact me.
Actually there is no good or bad dating software. The only thing is important is how you promote the dating site. Even if you have a script 100% facebook clone but if you don't know promote then its unless too.
Yes, most posts you find in these forums have an agenda. This agenda is usually to either promote one software company or hurt another. In fact, you yourself may be asking this question with a predetermined bias (not saying you are...but you may be). I've seen it a hundred times. So what is the solution? Should we disregard what everybody in these forums are saying, assuming everybody has a agenda? Maybe.... My advice is to search around and check out all the demos. Decide what script you are willing to spend the necessary time and money on promoting.. I chose Abledating over a year ago and have no regrets. My site is now getting more than 100 members a day, and still increasing. (Oops, do I have an agenda?) You can check out my first sig. link if you don't believe me. I agree with Mentos though, finding a good script is only the beginning. You will need to spend a lot of time, energy and money on promoting this site if you want anybody to use it. Good luck!
i have an old version of osDate before it went to 37MB of crap . . . its free and VERY FLEXIBLE ! if you know php or html I like osDate it does the trick but looks a little basic out of the box . . . but you can do basically ANYTHING YOU WANT and their forums even though maybe old posts - havent been there in a while - have mods for every idea. you can also try phpizabi but that one is iffy i have heard things about when you have alot of people on at one time it gets REALLY SLOW never experienced it myself though. But they have cool little perks built into their script like to notify you when someone is viewing your profile and etc ! both are free !

The user comments are really informative as well. They confirm my suspicion that "Off the shelf" dating software is really just an interim solution. It should be used by people, like me, that want to give this a shot. If things go well, then investing in a custom solution is the only way to go. So, my conclusion is, that sub-$1000 software is exactly what niche(ers) need. If things grow, then invest in the future... with good programmers. I think I have my answers. Now, I just have to choose the lesser of the software evils. For 0-500 bucks, there's not much to lose.

After months of research and encountering the same issues as yourself I bought the open source version of this http://www.datingpro.com/ They are legit, the app is quite comprehensive and sound, good support(timely as well). The only thing that bugs me is that its designed with tables. Short of that its good stuff. Nigel
If you want to go custom and have some money to spend on this, go with abledating, because they have this: http://abk-experts.com These are programmers who can make something really unique for you. So this will be a script made from the scratch, having nothing to do with abledating either.
I am having no experience with dating softwares, but would like to say that you can get the best info. only after using the software. If you are ready to do a business with that, then why to worry. Every business is having risk. Go ahead and buy one with your own skills and experience.
