Dating site in a way people find eachother if flirted somewhere

    Hello,

I'm trying to make a web page, where people would find eachother by entering informations about that meeting of theirs and this will then be auto-posted to the site in the directory and appropriate category.

But as site would be only for this purpose, I think I should add few thing also. But if I add chat for example, then the site becomes like every other dating site, if you know what I mean ... I don't need additions like chat, forum, etc., because this isn't typical "i need sex" site, but is more based on creative idea for people to find eachother after they flirted somewhere and didn't exchange contacts ...

I must add some things (I think at least), because having site only for this purpose won't gether enough of visitors and also they won't stay on the site for longer.

But ... what can I add that would be relevant enough? I was thinking about something quite irelevant, but interesting, like weekly charts of diferent music genres, because you can do this totally legal by using youtube videos. Maybe that's idea for another site, but well ... can it be combined, too?

That's for the start. Sorry for my wannabe-english, it's not my 1st language.

I would really appreciate any help of yours.

    Thank you in advance,
    JM23

    Sorry JM23,

I think craigslist has you beat to the punch on this one. They have a Missed Connections section where people do exactly what you just described.

It will be local - I found 3 entries total for my country (europe..), so that makes me happier. What about my questions? :)

Honestly, if it's local, you could probably try guerrilla marketing signs up in real life. If it catches on, it would definitely have a viral effect. You would only need a few dozen people on it before people started talking about it. Next thing you know it's mentioned on a local radio show and you've made it.

I don't think other content will really help - if there was extra content, it would have to be relevant (dating advice etc). The biggest challenge will just be getting local people to find your site and use it for the service you are offering.

Sorry, but I didn't get this one. What do you mean by that?

    (local = my country)

Oh, I thought you were talking about a city area. Basically, what I'm trying to say is for a site like this, it's going to be hard to get local traffic on your site for free. You could either do PPC (but dating is super expensive at least here in the states), or put up signs in major cities. Literally, post up fliers and signs around areas where people might have these connections (bus stations, subways, etc).

It's a small country in the middle of Europe :)

Yeah, I think, too, that the chepaest way to promote it would be to create some stickers and stuff and put them on right public places, later maybe some newspaper, then radio and in the end TV commercial.

Well either try some adwords campaign. Costs will drop when the keywords are not in english. Then get some keyword recommender. Like Traffic Travis. It has a free trial and it can give u up to 200 more or less relevant keyword from analyzing other pages, then bid low amounts on all those keywords.. Like a couple of cents, and then do social media.. Facebook mostly. Put up a contest, like "Invite your friends and win an ipod".. Besides that try and go to competitive services and advertise ur site there to drag people to your site instead of theirs.. perhaps see where your competitors backlinks and it might also tell u something about their marketing.
