I am planning to start building a landing page to promote a couple of dating offers from Azoogle. If I am not asking too much, I would like to know if anyone here is promoting dating sites and if is worth a try. I would say "probably" but would be cool if someone here could share a little with all of us. Thanks,
dating is a pretty good staple for most, if you don't mind lower profit margins... when i was doing it the profits were still pretty high but now with more competition the margins have slimmed. you really wanna pursue volume if your gonna run it, that way you can ask for a higher payout from your company and in turn bid higher in the search engines (which can give you more clicks and then lower you cost per click)] also there are still alot of good sites you can just buy advertising from relatively cheap.
I would try it. There are a lot of people doing dating stuff, but then there are a lot of people working with other niches aswell. If you don't try then you would never know how it would have performed.
Thanks for the input guys. I bought a good domain related to daing 2 years ago, before I was planning to create another free dating site, but now I believe it can generate more revenue by doing affiliate marketing instead. I will keep everyone posted with my progress. Cheers!
Like what was said before... Get a LOT of traffic. Monitor what converts and what doesnt. Toss the garbage, keep the goods. Increase bids on the goods.
the free dating site could work but you would most likely have to focus on a niche market like your town( or local city ) and advertise it greatly offline
It might sound stupid, but I have no clue how to track which keywords are converting. I tried to search online, but my understanding is that you need to get a track installed on the affiliate landing page, and quite frankly, plus have a special link for each keyword. It looks too me a lot of work to get all set it up, plus I don't believe they would install a tracking code for me as I am far from be a big earner.
well you could set up some php to grab the referring keyword and insert that as a subid into your affiliate code. that way you can see which gets the most clicks and which converts.
I'm completely rotated out of the dating offers now. The margins got too low, and other niches are working better. There is probably still some money to me made though if you want to work at it.
Be careful with true.com Offers http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2007/09/14/is-truecom-being-untrue-to-advertising-partners/
^^^ This is pretty solid advice. As for your first question, yeah, dating can be extremely profitable. People say it's too competitive, but really it's such a huge niche that there's always room to squeeze more money out of it. I'm doing $100+ a day profit right now with a dating offer from Azoogle, promoting strictly through adwords, just to give you an idea of the potential.
I am actually thinking of creating a dating review site and promote via Adwords. What do you think? Do you link the offers directly to the advertisers or use a landing page? Cheers!
