I think Google Dance is going on at the moment. I am seeing a great fluctuations in rankings in last 1 day.
neh, It has been doing that for a long time. Look again tomorow and you'll see everything is back to what it was again. I think they are just testing some new algo's on a few dc's every now and then and see how they work out. How soon visitors return to the search pages and things like that. but that's what I think...
I agree this as been going on for ages but when i checked on the 1st May i was showing a jump from no 35 to no 5 on only these two DC. When i checked yesterday i was showing no 5 on 7 DC Today i am showing it on 12 DC For anybody that has got better serps with these 2 DC i think it will only be a matter of time. It may go back to the original 2 DC's in a day or so, but on the bright side they are testing these serps on more DC'c everytime.
For a particular set of keywords i monitor those two dc's reverted back to sandboxed 5 days ago. However the de-sandboxed results have now spread to... 64.233.161.107 64.233.161.147 64.233.167.99 64.233.161.99 64.233.161.104 64.233.167.104 64.233.167.147 216.239.37.99 216.239.39.99 216.239.39.104 216.239.37.107 216.239.39.107 72.14.207.99 72.14.207.104 72.14.207.107 At long last (over a year) there are some new faces in the top serps. I kid you not it's been more or less the same top 10 since Dec 04.
Yeah, mine dropped a few places on those DCs. I don't mind when competitors rank better, but there are also 3 barely relevant sited above me and 2 of them were introduced in this update. Well, we will see...
On the ones that start with 64 and 72, I came out of the sand box, and have a lot of top 10s now. No results on 216.
Now the results are also showing from my toolbar search that never happened before. I noticed the shiftst stay longer too.
Now there are four sets of search results on the different datacentres. 1. the old results 2. the new results 3. variation on new results 4. further variation on new results
yeah - this has been going on for a while... I have given up looking at them (DC's) everyday... we just continue doing what we know works and just let G do its thing - at the end it will all level off....
back to only 4 showing diff results the rest seems stable to me now. Think it had something to do with cleaning? I guess what I hoped for (algo update) is not going to happoen
MAN looks like they rolled it out then backed it up again I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope these test data centers get rolled out :/
yes i am seeing it on 3 too. Have looking at my sites stats on there and for on minor keyword here they are Normal DC's search pages 222,000 My site pages indexed 196 My links 193 Cached 15 May 3 DC's Search pages 226,000 pages indexed 212 links 193 Cached 15 May Don't now what help this is but seams they are all pulling the same data. Must be some kind of nes Algo they are testing or maybe filters not switch on
i haven't seen theses results live in a long time now...about 3 weeks i guess. i hope they become live again, i think the results are great.
I'm finding the results on Datacenters 64.233.187.99 and 64.233.187.104 to be good for my area, but again they are bouncing all over the place, it would be nice for google to either get these results on all or none and to stop pissing everyone about. I'm also finding a big differance in results for my target area. on a normal google.com results for a specific keyword returns 16,300,000 where as the same search on 64.233.187.99 returns 18,000,000
We've been merrily climbing the ranks since the new year and have been just outside the top 20 this last 2 weeks. Everything has been consistant for us: Google.co.uk list us in the top 6 finally. Then it seems the've been mucking about with it all again and only 64.233.187.99 is still showing that. The other datacenters seem to put us 10 places or more down, back to where we were maybe a month ago. Have they rolled back Big Daddy? For us Big Daddy has been good as it was showing us great listings since it was introduced. Its hard to know if that would have happened anyway though. Before that we weren't in the top 40 or 50.
Bigdaddy is not an update, its a fundamental change to Google infastructure. There is no rollback. The datacenters being all over the place is this caused by the new infastructure...a lot of the things its trying to fix are playing with results. It looks like they are playing with changes to algo's and see what works. About 1 1/2 weeks ago they rolled out some great changes and rolled them back about 2 days later. Looks to me like 64.233.187.99 is the best and the most relevant. It also seems to be the only stable center. About 3 months ago after Big-Daddy it was one of two datacenters that were showing new results.
