Hi can a mysql database be imported to wordpress?

WordPress database is having certain structure... So I think you have to manually change the table structures to import it to the wordpress DB.

 

Thanks doesnt it do that automatically?

 

I will make a post on how to change structure as i imported it but it shows the content shows alongside tables but not actually in the tables post etc thanks

 

If your first site is also a wordpress then it can be directly imported.. else we can't my friend..

You can try to export from WP to csv. View structure of csv file and make a similar one with data from your non Wordpress site, then import it in WP.

 

If it is a database backup of a previous wordpress installation, then it will work fine, otherwise you will have to make certain changes.
