Can someone please explain to me what this is or what it does? This is rather urgent.

Ok i just wandered if any one coul dhelp with a problem we have, my mate was given a forum by a friendas he had given up on it. The forum had loads of phpbb mods installed most incorrectly, basically it was a mess. He told my mate to dump the schema ( what does he meane by this) and start afresh.

So my mate set up another board which is fresh and clean to transfer the data to. We have tried transferring the database, it shows up on the board with the total amount of posts in the who is online area and all the user accounts, but the forums are empty!!! weres all the posts? We are really confused, i am not asking at the phpbb forums as this is not directly phpbb related.

    Any one help? please?

If you have access to PhpMyAdmin, you should be able to export all the data from the database and then import it into the new installation. It's pretty straightforward. Does PhpBB have and export/import feature?

I think my mate has tried this but its not showing the posts or threads but its showing the total number of posts and everyone susers account but the forums just look blank.

I wouldnt use phpbb export thing it doesnt work very well, so basically it is just exporting then importing. hmm I dunno why it isnt working then

Maybe this would be a good question for the PhpBB forums. I think it's related.

Does php have a built in script to rebuild the database like VB does ?

I used impex to transfer over a phpbb database and had to auto-rebuild the database before all the posts would show.
