Database driven sites

    Hello all-

This isn't a whine, so keep reading!

I have an original content site that has been running for about 3 years now. My average daily Adsense total has been about $1.11 over the last year. I haven't done a thing to the site in this time, so that is okay.

Well I decided to expand my Adsense 'empire' and started two other sites. I immediately lost interest. I just don't feel like writing any more- creating content just isn't my thing right now.

BUT- I am a computer programmer, that is what I do for a living. I decided to go out and find some databases, and put those on the web. This was far more into my interest area, and I had fun with it. I put up 3 databases- each one took about 6 hours of work (convert DB, create site, write queries, etc. etc.)

So, here is the question- are these sites just too generic? I am providing information- and adding value (comments, etc.). I do not want to pollute the web with more MFA junk. But, all 3 of these sites have totalled up to about 35 hits over the past week. Empire building isn't going as well as I would have hoped.

For the curious, here is a like to my extensive empire:

http://simplestuff.info (I cannot add live links yet...you have to cut and paste)

The bible, nursing home and auto mileage sites are my new databases. The site about my home town is the one that gets me $1.11 per day. The Pile is a site I had high-hopes for, but it just didn't pan out. (Adsense sharing opportunity for all!)

Also, I know that the design of these 3 new sites isn't exciting. I decided to make them as simple as possible, rather than flashy.

Any feedback, of any sort, would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Karl
