database backup ( mySQL )

    hello dear all,

    recently I launce a directory. I want backup of mySQL (export) there database and import in new directory..
    please suggest me how can do this..
    I am using phplinkdirectory free 2.1 ver.

    Simply use PHPMYADMIN if you are familiar with it. It lets you import and export databases.

    Sorry almost time to sleep so cannot give you detail steps now. But will do if you still need help tomorrow I will give you details steps.

    I can also do it FOR YOU(much easier than explaining all the steps) FOR FREE if you want.

    I did my first ever backup of a MySQL Database tonight, should the dump file usually be saved as a SQL file? the reason im asking is that i saw many options in phpmyadmin for the file type when saving.
