Well, I was at glendale community college taking a test today, and I saw this paper wear you tear off little snippets at the bottom (to remember website/phone number). It was for a job about online data entry that pays $35-45 per form, up to $200/day, and has bi-weekly payments. Well I type 140-200 WPM (depending on which speed test I take) and I think I would be great for this job. All I remember are those facts ont he flyer (up to $200 a day, $35-45 per form, bi-weekly payments), and the website was something33.com(i think it was .com), but I remember it being something33. Please help me people! This is my dream job!
Just from the description, I can tell you it's a scam. The 33 at the end of the website is just so they can see from where the person came from. There's probably things numbering from 1 - 100 out there. Like most other typing/data entry scams, they will require YOU to pay THEM anywhere between $20 - $100 for training materials / job information. Either this 'information' will be a list of places YOU will have to contact YOURSELf to beg for jobs, or even more sinister, instructions on how to type up hundreds of flyers (exactly like the one you have seen) to scam others out of money, as you have been scammed. There are certainly some legitimate data entry jobs out there. I'm working in the summer for a library entering books in a database, but no company would pay $200 a day for data entry. If it's too good to be true, it is!
Yes, and the person was probably a student who fell into the same trap as you would have, and decided to try the same tactic on other people. I see this stuff posted up all over the walls at my university as well. Tough luck.
Alot of those data entry websites are just a scam and lead you to other sites that don't help you. I would say yours is a scam.
Grimsqueaker is right, it is a scam. Do a google search for this job and you will find lots of bad stories about people who have been sucked into this. If it sounds too good to be true chances are that it is.
You got to be very careful. While there are genuine data entry jobs advertised, many are scams. It can be try to find the right ones.
Lol, yeah it's a scam, I pay two guys in India $200 each a MONTH to do data entry for me 40 hours a week, and he's being paid more than most of his friends. I've also done some work in the US, like mystery shopping (yes those jobs do exist but they're a lot of work for little pay) and the like... no American company is going to pay over minimum wage for typing unless it's a lawfirm (lol, gotta love it when my freaking attorney bills me $150 for a letter he sent with a 'minimum' 1-hour charge on something his secretary typed for him. anyway, don't send them any money, i wouldn't even pursue it any further.
its just another scam coz i had read about such job sometime back and when i inquired about it they said you need to pay about 80-100 $ for joining which includes training material and stuff and first payment comes after 60 days.
