Does anyone have a clue what the hell is going on at Google lately? There is 0 consistency from DC to DC, The results are unreliable at best. Really getting old.

I saw a couple of KWP I have been trying to push page 1 and they were there last week, now back to #20 or end of page 2. Last time I saw this style of movement the KWP I was working on ended up page one at the end, so I am hoping for that kind of end to this dance**.

**I know, this isn't a dance, but I am seeing dancing serps so leave me alone!

I have counted 4 sets. Think about it as an end user, the user types in a search phrase, finds exactly what they are looking for on page 2 of the serps. The next day, they are considering the search they made yesterday, so they google the same phrase they used yesterday, and alas, they cannot find the site in mind. Would be very frustrating for an end user IMHO. I know, because I used to do that sort of thing all the time.

i have done this a few times the last few weeks. I am thinking to myself, "I know it was the second one down - where is it now?" Then trying to find it in history and kicking myself for not bookmarking it!

I have noticed that mcdar.net is down quite a bit lately. What do you guys use besides mcdar to check your rankings on different dc's?

    Tis a conspiracy.
Google are hijacking all the SEO forums
by bouncing the PR up and down.
They figure that all we ever do is talk about it,
rather than inlock the algo code

It's very frustrating to see all the inconsistancies. Once can only assume two things... either Google is trying to throw off webmasters or (most likely) their having serious problems with their index.

I am pretty sure they are having HUGE problems with their index and the new algo. Not sure if anyone else has seen it but there are tons of spamsites in the index nowadays and most of them has scraped content and using and .info domain with thousands of subdomains. I think Google has HUGE problems right now but they can't of course admit that then their stock would plummet.
I have lately turned my efforts away from Google because of their inconsistency and all you see are spam sites (except for gov sites of course). One day you are in the index, next day (or maybe hour!!) your not, one day you are on first page and next day you can't be found.......
They better do something quick or people won't even bother about Google anymore

Yeah, Google's updates have definitely been long and drawn out lately- this one is STILL going. Gone are the days when things just dramatically change one day and everyone flips out. Now everyone flips out everyday lol

This is normal during an update. The filters are off and the spammy sites start showing up in the top 20 more often and then will start disappearing during the course of the update. That has been my experience over the last few.

Our main site has been bouncing daily between page 2 and 3 for KW depending on which DC we check. Sort of makes any SEO work useless since you can't get an accurate reading as to sight position.

We have also tested different title tags as of late and noticed that google is updating content much slower than in the past. We used to be able to manipulate a title tag and content on a test page and see updated results within 72 hours...now it's more like 2 to 3 weeks.:(

This update's been going on for over a month... shouldn't Google have released a statement about this by now? Or is Google afraid to admit they funked everything up...

I think google might finally be over doing it....it's like they are over engineering the freakin' algo to the point where you can't even trust the results....like trying to re-invent the wheel.

Hate to say it but MSN has never been this unstable, bad thing is...no one uses it.

That is why I want MSN to overtake Google. Google IMO is very unstable. Like some of my rankings are on page 4 then page 6 then page 8 then page 5, etc. It makes me mad, makes my work even harder then it should, indexed page size is crap, etc. And finding stuff on Google lately is just a pain in the butt. This is why I am a MSN fan.
