Darker Background in Safari

    Hi,

I found a problem with my site that is really weird. The background image is darker in safari. But the header and footer (which were created the same way) are fine.

I've read a few posts around about a problem with the transparency of png files but mine was a png file created in fireworks but it is now saved as a .jpg.

For most browsers the site looks fine.

But in safari the main background image appears darker

    How weird is that!

    Can anyone explain it?

    Thanks,
    Travis

Your links don't work for me. Wouldn't it be easier just to post the URL of your site? That'll also give us a chance to look at the CSS, files, etc.

yea, links also don't work for me.
Just putting your URL will be much better for the other members to help you solve this problem.

    Cheers,

I've encountered similar problems like this. You can try saving it as png, then use tweakpng to remove the gamma. That usually does the trick for me.

Thanks I think I worked it out. I used fireworks to create the image. When I save the png file as a .jpg I get the problem. But if I export it to a .jpg then it works fine.
