WU allowed in Pakistan, and I just shifted to WU, its nice option for me as banks were taking about 45 days for clearing the checks.

LOL yes, I was one of the few that was under the BETA. Been receiving super-quick payments from Western Union for many months now. 100 times better than cheques.

Today Google emailed me on the end of BETA period and Western Union is now available to ALL Malaysian publishers. I guess CIMB and RHB need to get ready for mass influx of people withdrawal. I had my share of odd questions asked by RHB/CIMB when trying to withdraw.

Example of question asked by CIMB clerk:

"Does Google has a last name?" when you fill out the field for sender's detail ie: Google, Inc.

"How do you get this money?" which should not be their business to know.

Nowadays, less problem encountered with Western Union services at CIMB or RHB. Have fun guys!

For India I think it will be really difficult, as RBI has regulation that only 100,000Rs i.e about 2500$ about is allowed per month / per transaction.

It means they will send a max of $10,000 via Western Union, after that, they will send checks.

At the moment, Google absorbs the fee, so you pay nothing.

Go to Western Union website and do a mock-up money transfer from USA to Malaysia / India / Pakistan. You'll see the fee amount is quite significant which Google absorbs.

WU is not associated with your bank account, you can pick it from WU agent in your city by showing them your ID and telling them MTCN (Payment number).
