Okay, so I work for this small business on my off days of my other 2 jobs. Well they hired me to put content on their site (descriptions of products and such) and have been asking me to get traffic to their site. How do you go about that? I know that there are articles to write and such but thought that was more for affiliate marketers.. Lol I wouldn't really consider myself an affiliate to this business..i get min wage to sit here and try to convince people to come to an unfinished site and buy their products...yayy me! lol Any Pointers? Start off by putting the websites URL everywhere possible. I've recieved several customers here at DP by simply being a part of this community. And for some reason, someone just got the idea to see what my signature was about.
First start by doing the product descriptions, this will help with keywords and help the search engines figure out what the site is about. Though it is suggested that you do some keyword research before you do the product descriptions. If a site basically only has pictures of their products, prices, and a buy here link, it would have a difficult time ranking in the search engines and getting traffic. Browse digitalpoint and you will see that hundreds of people have asked basically the same question about how to get traffic...and hundreds more answered those questions. You will find some good suggestions by browsing those posts.
Very true. Try participating in this community and then see the difference! You will learn to "market" - not hard sell but soft sell
Posting on forums has always brought me targeted and quality traffic. And besides that here at DP, you have so much to learn when you interact. Im sure it will atleast help you know much more clearly where you stand.
Once you've got the traffic, you'll need to convert it to sales. Don't just give a description of the product/s. Explain how they'll benefit your visitor etc.
Send them to me. It takes time and money. If they have the money, I have the time. Can't teach you the entire internet business in a thread.
Thanks, It's going to be hard getting the search engines to notice us because the site is just a simple picture, description, click buy sort of deal. however I am going to do what I can with what I have available to me
