I have had a domain hosted on damnx.us since september and I have been submitting content on a weekly basis to a blog I set up there and now when I go to the site is is down "connection error in database". I contacted their support department and told them of the problem and they told me the site had been down for 4 days! No explanation why it is not fixed, just told to wait. The problem is I cant wait as Google is now indexing the error pages and it is affecting my SERP. What can I do - you can guess I have no back up of the blog...am I best cutting my loses and transfering the domain to a more reliable hosting company?
you're better off cutting your losses and moving to a more professional hosting company! and you should always remember to back up!
How much you are paying with current hosting company? I would recommend get outta there asap. 4 days in downtime is a nightmare and it shows Google how unreliable your website is. You do not have to worry about website transfer because most of hosting companies are eager to do it for you. They can get your website transferred with no downtime and more importantly - FREE.
If your site is still down I can get you a deal that would pretty much match it if you just PM me or reply.
See what happens when you complain...see this thread of a few days ago! Damnx.us take your money, delete your website and keep your domain! http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2497587&highlight=damnx.us
Geester1, wise men said think twice and act wise. good luck with your next host, do remember to check out their review/reputation and walking around the forum for some word of mouth before placing an order.
Also make sure to get free trial before sign up to new host. Most of shared hosting companies do oversell with all services.
well first thing is did you check your wp-config.php file properly. That error means wordpress isint able to connect to you DB.
You could indeed focus on the problem at hand. The issue may have simply been a corruption of the wp-config.php!
this is a 2 year old thread you are replying to and I hope his hosting contract has expired by this time
