DaMNX.US hosting review Is it a scam or just poorly managed?

    Have a webiste hosted on damnx.us since September 2010, had many technical hitches but we received an email stating that they had changed servers (last week), since then our website has been permenantly down, after numerous emails to their alledged support department we received an email informing us their tech team had cleared the bug, still the site was down!

    We tried calling the numbers in whois database for support NOTHING - ALL FAKE numbers and hiding their privacy...why you may ask? If you do a search on line you will find they are a very small reseller working our of India but claiming their addresses are in the USA - what gives it away is the mobile number they have on file on the wohis database, when you call it states the number is not working!

    So after $3250 investment in the site, building backlinks at a cost of $200 per month we are now left with a site that is down AND NO TECHNICAL SUPPORT whatsoever, just a pack a lies, they even told us they had replied to an email, having checked even the spam filter - nothing.

    We are told they will not even refund the hosting we paid for - this is of little concern as we will be looking to recover the entire amount it has cost us to set up the site and get it ranked in top 3 on google.

    The main thing they do is hide behind their ToS, however all contracts have a clause under the law for being reasonable and due to their lack of support we will be reasonably suing them for a total amount of US$6000 and our lawyers are looking at it now to proceed with proceedings.

    In OUR experience DAMN.US IS A SCAM - pay a little more and get hosting that is both reliable and cost effective - try bigwetfish we are...

    Just informed us that www.damnx.us do not answer their mobile number as they are busy trying to fix the problem, then we received an email stating the problem resolved but checking our website it is STILL down and so is www.damnx.us.

    Looks like the support "person" does not know what his is doing!

    Received another stating they would not refund the payment and they are hiding behind their ToS as explained in this post...Other www.damnx.us users having similar problems so not an issolated problem!

    One last point which we find amusing, it that on their domain name registration site http://www.idnrs.com has a section with thie FAKE whois information on and at the bottom it states report fake whois infromation! Check it out http://www.idnrs.com/reseller.php?action=contact_us

    Above post is simply rubbish and an anti-compaign.
    Our server is crashed and we are repaitring the system.
    People, who are providing know very well, how much difficult is this to manage hosting on a shared platform.
    OP is with us since 2010 and except some small problems he has not faced anything - it is clear from his own statement.
    We are in Industry since October 1998 and we had never experienced any trouble with any customer.
    We are providing good support and service, hence the claim of OP is wrong.
    All our contact numbers are working and we reply within 24 hours.
    We prefer not to provide any support by phone because each and every trouble has to be investigated properly and a professional solution is required, which takes time.
    Our ToS is very clear, available publicly on all our websites and customers have to agree with it before signing with us.
    Regarding domain services, we are with Resellerclub and everything is managed and maintained by Resellerclub.

    Though OP has violated ToS and norms of Industry, we have given full and all rights to him for his domain.
    As per our ToS, customers have to maintain a backup of their websites in a case of eventuality, but OP did not bother to this.
    Despite this we have assured him to provide his websiote intact, once we fix our server.
    We cannot guarantee the time to be online as we do not know what will happen even once server is started.
    Our server crashed due to heavy CPU and memory usage due to some misconfigured websites of the customers and so.

    We always regret incionvenience and so this time also.

    You can't guarantee it, but if the OP is telling the truth with the times, it should not take a week to bring a new server back online. That's absolutely ridiculous! Honestly, I think it's something else. ResellerClub would just move you and the clients to a new server. They wouldn't take a week to do that.

    Geester1, this is why you do the appropriate research and not go with resellers.

    WSWD, you are confusing 2 things - 1. Resellerclub is my Registrar and not the hosting provider, and 2. you are talking about 'week' to set up a server, I am talking about 'day' - our server will be on within a day or two - only thing is this that we are not sure whether it will further crash or not. Can you assure your clients that your server will never crash?

    If you DO NOT WANT THE WORLD TO KNOW OF YOUR FRAUD AND SCAM, get our site back up by 8 am on Friday 15th June otherwise we have waited for far too long and we WILL tell the world of your scam and ruin your business overnight.

    Enough trying to be nice - SORT YOUR PROBLEM OUT.

    Do not have the stupidity to quote ToS to us as we know you have changed your ToS to cover this scam as reported on other websites - one thing is for sure EVERYONE WILL KNOW OF YOUR SITE AS A SCAM! We will then target your domain registrar site.

    Nobody can assure that, but if it does happen, we simply take our backups and restore the accounts on one of our other servers. Should take a few hours at most...not days or a week.

    Are you guys only running one server?

    1. Your earlier reply says 'week' and now you have come to 'hour'. Anyway, no point to dispute that.
    2. Question is not of one or ten servers - we changed 5 servers in last one week and all are crashing ... as soon as server is started ... our Tech is working on this and this time, we are going to restore 1 cPanel account one time and watch the server ... obviously this will take some time to load all the accounts ... we do not want to disturb our other servers by moving cPanel accounts of this particular server to there because we do not want trouble to other customers ...

    So you ignore our emails but are fast to post a counter post to the issues you failed to address in emails I have sent directly to you? Our website has been down for the past 6 DAYS now and all we get is lies from your tech support - telling us they have fixed the problem but still the site is down -

    ALL WE ASK IS THAT WE GET THE SERVICE WE PAID FOR - THIS YOU ARE FAILING TO PROVIDE -

    Hence the total frustration of using you and one of the only options left open to us to let everyone online know of the pathetic and none existent service you offer.

    The mobile number in India DOES NOT WORK- message stated this when we rang several times!

    We paid in August 2011 for this - 90 days on is Dec 2011, NOT June 2012 - see they lie!

    We have several other websites and we are not new to webhosting, but over the years we expect issues with sites being down but never in our 15 years online have we experienced such pathetic support or service, if an issue with web site being down the hosting company resolves this within 2 hours maximum this is bigwetfish who when you unlock the domain we will transfer the domain too - but this is made impossible as you have not unlocked it AND your cpanel is down for us to do a back up - we can however use a previous backup of 3 weeks ago and just add the articles we submitted from there.

    The site has been down 6 FULL days and still no news when it will be fixed - is this the action and support of a web hosting company that knows what it is doing? Ask yourself this - is this the professional service you expect from a hosting company?

    AVOID THIS SCAM HOSTING COMPANY.

    Honestly...I don't believe you in the slightest. You would rather have everyone on the affected servers down for a week (that is the OP's words, not mine...he said his server has been down since last week) instead of moving them to one of your "other servers" because you don't want to "trouble" the other people on those servers? ROFL!!

    And all 5 servers went down at once huh? :rolleyes:

    Completely unbelievable...the whole thing.

    We have posted 2 email communications with the OP
    We tried to explain him our technical position best to our abilities.

    Our ToS is open for the public and it is on the very first page of our website https://www.damnx.us
    It is absurd to say that we have manipulated and changed the ToS. It is same as it was in the past and this can be checked through http://archive.org/web/web.php

    OP has violated ToS on many accounts, though we have maintained patience - 1. he has full and all rights of his domains and free to transfer this to any other registrar, 2. by posting against us he has violated the ToS, 3. by not maintaining the backup, he has violated the ToS, 3. by not understanding that we have a proper refund policy, his claim of refund is a violation, 4. by not abiding to the clause which tells about situations in case of mechanical failure, he has violated the ToS

    We have nothing against OP even though he has misbehaved by posting and writing against us. If it could have been any other host, he might have never replied him and immediatelly terminated his account and seiged his domain.

    Once our this server is online, he is free to move his website and calim refund as per our ToS.

    When the domain is unlocked it WILL be transferred but this will be to late as damage will be done to our business and in turn to damnx.us

    We need from Tonya to email over "Transfer Secret" or "EPP Auth Code" to enable us to transfer the domain, as the first batch of articles will be published at noon today GMT if we do not receive this information, the articles will be published highlighting the appalling service we have received as well as 3 other articles (5pm GMT) all having 7000 submissions - 21,000 links pointing back to your sites telling the world of the pathetic and unacceptable service we have received (as well as many others).

    After many lies being told by damnx.us, we felt this was the only way as they actually emailed us telling us to stop emailing them as they have zero tolerance...they also demonstrated zero support or service.

    Every word that comes out of your mouth is lies, you can;t even number the issues correctly!

    1 - we cannot transfer as we have not been given FULL access - supply the authority code as requested.
    2- letting the world know of the poor service - your SUPPORT website is down and cant contact you on mobile - so how else am I to get your attention...
    3- We have a back up!
    4 - credit card payment disputed yesterday, funds credited to our account already

    YOU HAVE STOLEN OUR MONEY AND MONEY OF OTHER CUSTOMERS AND NOW NOT EVEN SUPPLYING SUPPORT FOR THE PROBLEMS, you time would be far better resolving the issue than posting on here...Yet no indication of when the site will be back up!

    ALL WE WANT IS THE DOMAIN UNLOCKED so we can transfer it - supply the "Transfer Secret" or "EPP Auth Code", unless you want the world to know what type of scam you run? Your choice...
