Damn you Google!

Sorry for venting out but it's been more than 24 hours since our RSS Subscribers went down and Mr.Google still haven't replied to our emails/tried to contact us - nothing!

I know it's a glitch because I've asked several people that had subscribed, and they all said they still are subscribed!

Anyone else experiencing this? Your RSS Subscribers hitting the big fat zero overnight for no reason?

    Hope they fix it soooon!

You do have to consider the thousands and thousands of emails Google must get everyday.

I wasn't expecting a reply from them, but more of a fix - I'm sure we aren't the only blog to simultanesouly loose all our subscribers..

@MrktJunior - Yup, it's feedburner and dropping off to 0 three times a week? If this keeps up, I'd be moving to a new RSS Management system..

Now that is understandable. If they are going to provide a service they should fix it when its down and with the immense amount of tech staff they have nothing should ever be down too long.

I my self, am also facing this problem. I believe Feedburner is becoming an unreliable service and once Google actually gets to their head that Feedburner needs a fix, people will probably be reverting to a different feed service like Feedcat. Hopefully they do something in time, before big names revert to a different provider.

Yeah I hate when a multi-billion dollar company won't fix something within 24 hours of me asking. The nerve of those lazy bastards ;)
They really should drop everything they are working on and jump when we tell them to.

If your feedburner reader counter turn to 0, then it was normal. I've seen my feedburner counter turn to 0 about 2 times a month. I think that was a bug on that system.

and normally it will come back after 1-2 days.

    Exactly, I just don't know why they won't :(

I've just talked with my fellow admin, as we run the blog together - we are seriously contemplating moving to a new Feed Manager.

I don't know if it's just me, or were you being sarcastic? If you were - well it hasn't been 24 hours. This issue has been around since 2005 (a simple Google search will have you agreeing) and also what do you mean "drop everything they are doing" ?? They have a specialized team just for FeedBurner technical faults. Instead of 'dropping' what they are doing, they should get do what they are meant to do ;)

I'm just saying, hopefully they can resolve it soon..

Few weeks? damn.. apparently it's because "they are trying out new things" - I rather opt not having new things and having a stable platform :p

So, this thing happens more regularly than I thought - what do you guys do when this happen? Just wait or try out other RSS Managers?

It's a major glitch and most of the popular blogs get their traffic from their feeds, Google understands this better than we do. They rely on us for their popularity, they will be working hard on it.

Google receive thousands of mails every day. It never bothers to reply to mails. But we have seen before that they attend to the problem and correct it. Hope your problem corrected soon. But this problem is happening to all of us. It gets back to the old count after a couple of days.

I think we should re-start the rant!

It started to work, with the stats returning to normal then it died out again

Don;t worry too much about it M3rC.....

I see the same fluctuations in subscriber stats in my GWT and my feedburner account.

Another perfect example of relying on a dumb ass search engine for your business marketing needs and having it blow up in your face.

Dust off your wallets...free a few dead presidents..... and BUY a stable platform that will free you from the complete mess search engines make of websites daily....

Google has their hands in so many things now.... that all of their services are gone or going to crap.

If you use G mail and try to surf to a domain not registered, Google will send you back to Gmail....

F'in brilliant Goog.....yet you can afford a jet for the head schmucks.....
