I just want to have abit of a rant on DP about how damn crowded the NHS (UK Health Service) is and how I'm just getting passed around. It started around the beginning July when I found abit of a lump on my left side of my neck, so though I better get myself to the doctors to check it out. The doctor had a feel around and though its just a gland that has gotten an infection in and wanted to see me in about a weeks time to see if it had gone down or not. So, a week later I turn up and get seen by the same doctor - by this time he had forgotten why I was there and what size the lump was before - I explained how long it had been there (about 2 weeks now) and what size it was last week then he replies 'Ah yes - I remember now!' He has another feel round and decides he wants me to go to the hostipal so they can check it out and decide wether they want to take any cells from it. I got an hostipal appointment for another 1 weeks time, so, 1 week passed and I turned up to the hostipal. She had a feel round of it, asked me some questions, stuck a telescope up my nose (Ouch! It hurt!) and said 'On our records it shows that you were taking these tablets for the last few months and you were told that you did not need them anymore. I think its the side effect of stopping your dosage of these tablets. I want to see you in 4 weeks time - Fair enough. 4 weeks have passed and I've been back to the hostipal today and was seen by another doctor because the other one was on the sick. He felt round abit and said 'I want to put you through for an Ultrasound Scan which you can get an appointment for in 6 weeks time!!!!, then your results will return within 2 weeks!!!' It seems to me that its going to be another 8 weeks until I find out what this damn lump is on my neck!! /End Rant!
yeh ive had a similar problem with a lump on my elbow, been 3 months now, 6 appointments, 3 scans and over 200 miles of traveling what is it? nobody knows
