Damn i hate adsense

I must have made multiple threads complaining about my dislike to adsense. But seriously they hate me. I get over 2,000 UVs a day and make less than $1. Ive tried a lot of different placements etc and non of its working. Ive recently added adbrite inline and full page ads and they are making me a fortune in comparison, but still farily little (>$2/day). Granted I dont get the most click but when I do its like 5c per click.. I going to get my next cheque and then move to someone else. Ive applied for Tribal Fusion and if they accept me I will see how they work out. To be honest I dont really know what sort of replies I expect to get from this thread. If you think you can give me advice judging from my placements etc my website is www.customizepsp.co.uk

Thanks. Also if you too are in a similar situation I want to know! Thanks

I had one site like that, I just removed the adsense and replaced it with other ads :) Keep experimenting and you'll find something that works.

my site only gets about 300 uniques but i get about $1 a day. mine is CMS based with blog-like comments enabled and forum as backup. congrats on a very active site though. i've heard on this site that forums are hard to generate revenue. i administer a friend's site and he has the #1 site for his niche though it's forum based. i think he could do better for revenue generating purposes if it was a CMS so info is straight forward and the users don't have to search for it in the forums. i suggested a link on the navigation for more in depth questions and answers. just an idea, not sure if it'll work but it could reduce forum traffic since answers are more easily available.

Your image adsense ads were loading slow, but the time they did, I already would be half way down the page and probably hitting the back button or something else.
I think all the other graphics were hogging the bandwidth. You have alot of images on that homepage.

edit, I cleared my cache and refreshed the page and the adsense image ads loaded slow again. yep
Oh iH ave 60/kbs download speed, which is fairly okay. I can watch youtube vids no prob..
If you wanted to avoid this you should optimize any images with something like Adobe Fireworks before putting them on the site. Sometimes jpeg might still look good with more compression, or sometimes some images might wiegh less as a .gif then a jpeg etc.

2000 UV is great enough for adsense but i think your site is forum base not site/blog base that is make visitor more focus on your content not your ads :D

your site loaded really slow for me

if I was just a regular visitor, I would probably leave before even having a chance to read any ads or anything, maybe that is what is happening

Slow (SLOOOOOW) loading site... plus why be frustrated with AdSense? It doesn't matter what your UV is... whether 2000 or 2,000,000.... it depends on your CTR. If people aren't clicking... you make no money. It just depends on your creativity on getting your ads noticed in a good and legit manner.

Why would they click on the ads if you offer them what they searching for? :)

I don't like the horizontal image banner at the top/ middle at all. People are blind to ads placed there as every site does it.

I don't like image ads period.

You need some link units that look like navigation.

Keep playing around with placement man. With 2k uniques you should be doing wayyyyy better than that.

I get about 1000 unique visitors per day and make between 10 and 15 a day.

here are a couple of ideas
    1. add some 336 x 280 ads. I make about 80% of my money on that ad size. It's a pain to incorporate it, but well worth it.
    2. make a different version of your website for guest and have it display more ads, and put a message saying "these ads removed when you register". It allows you to display alot of ads, but not annoy your regulars.
    3. signup with adsdaq.com and add your existing adsense code as a backup. You set your price in adsdaq, and if they can't meet it they show your existing adsense code.

I personally hate that adbrite full page ad stuff. It crashes my firefox for some reason.

I have got a good option for you, you could possibly change that Google adsense advert into an opt-in email registration for a weekly giveaway or something or provide a service or strike a deal with someone who can work with you and come to some kind of arrangements. Once you have got there email its then up to you to try some different methods into email marketing instead of relying on Google adsense for your forum income.

By email marketing i do not mean (spamming peoples email accounts with crap junk email) I am getting that straight since i dont want to upset anyone in this post becuase i am a big hater of spam email!

I simply mean get some decent people opt-in your list and then market products or services relative to what you have got on your site and track accordingly and adjust over time.

I have had many big forums online and Google adsense did make a lot of the money but the main stream of income came from upgraded memberships with benefits of course and other forms of affiliated advertising.

Google adsense is great however if your not getting the desired results try something differant and then go from there.

Hope this helps a bit if you would like more help let me know ill be happy to assist.

maybe change the image ads to text only ads. Adjust the link, title and text colors of the ads to the colors of the text in your site. Also, if your filtering out your competitors, you may be filtering out the higher paying clicks.
