OK, here's the deal: Yes, they are right when they say in right quantities, and it also depends on how u take your coffee and the rest of your diet. what i mean by that is, if you drink your coffee with tons of creamer and tons of sugar, it's probably NOT that good for you, especially if you eat other sweet things throughout the day. I drink coffee pretty much everyday, and i only put a little bit of creamer in it, NO sugar added. It helps me in all sorts of ways and YES there is a definite placebo affect.
I would prefer tea to coffee. Because tea contains Tannin and Catechin have been associated with preventing cancer and heart diseases, while coffee doesn't contain the similar ingredients.
New studies have said that moderate consumption (1-3 cups) per day is really good for you. Good for your blood stream, metabolism, brain function..etc. Bring on the Java!
Black coffee is fine, but if you keep adding milk and sugar regularly, then it might be harmful to your health honey Instead I would advice to have some normal tea, with sugar, but without the milk, good for health.
I have been drinking one cup of coffee a day to help me to be alert when I do programming at work. So far it helps a lot on being more focus and I don't palpitate as other says. I also know that coffee has antioxidant which is good to your health. Just drink in moderation.
I'm a tea drinker, and drink about 2 MUGS (that'd be 4-5 cups) daily. My parents have been drinking tea in the same dosage for over 40 years and they're as fine as healthy people can possibly be. I think the same should apply for coffee, so I don't think you should be worried about your mild consumption.
i drink big glass coffee everyday... however i do watch my caffeine intake in one day. if i had something else like tea 4 instance then i lower the coffee intake to a small glass of coffee, same thing for chocolates; diet pills and all other product that contain cafein
