Daily Budget change affect your ad position?

One of the site I manage has a daily budget of $600/day. If I change it to $300/day (because of the Labor Day), will this affect my ad position when I change it back to the $600/day budget?

I guesss my questions is: does the daily budget affect ad position? I read somewhere that if you have a large daily budget (i.e. one spent lot of money in Adwords), it places your ad higher than someone who doesn't.

The site is currently enjoying the top 3 positions for some of the most important Keywords. I don't want to take the chance of losing my position by altering any of the settings.

    No,

The ad position is not affected directly by the daily budget. The ad position is affected by the keyword bid price and other factors (see Quality Score).

I read some where that it WILL affect you...
becuse google use the dialy budget to determin the "pressure" of your ad display.

i.e. if you set the daily limit to $5 then google will go very slow in displaying your ads... however if you set it to $600 google wil try to expose
your ad as much as possible (with consideration to other factors of course).

Now... if the display of your ad is affected... this MAY afeect the CTR,
and this accordingly MAY affect the Ad position.

SO i think it has an indirect affect.

I think, no (I didn't check it with such budget)

if you click own ads you'll spend money, but CTR will increase, position becomes higher. You can try this with new campaign. It is a joke with some common sense :))

CTR is the number of clicks/impressions

if you display the ad 100000 times more along the day and it has the same tendency of receive impressions due to its relevancy its CTR will be fixed for a budget of $5 or $600

It used to be the case that setting your daily budget higher sent a message to Google that you wanted more impressions and were able to pay for them, and visa-versa, but that doesn't appear to be the case anymore. Now, if you want the maximum exposure for your ads, you just set the new (ish) 'Delivery method' option under each campaign to 'Accelerated', and Google will show your ads at their maximum visibility until it hits your daily threshold.

To the best of my knowledge, altering the daily budget now does not affect the frequency or position that your ads are displayed as long as you're using accelerated delivery.

Exactly and if your not using accelerated delivery your ad's will be spread out more evenly throughout the day but at the same CPC and ad positions as before.

More to the point, why would you need to change your daily budget from $600 to $300?

    Yes, I did.

Why would you change budget because of Labor Day?

In case you're not familiar with US holidays. Labor Day is a 3 day long weekend (vacation). My site sells office supplies. So it would be senseless to show ads when no one is working in the office....
