Ignore DA and much of the advice on this page my friend. DA has nothing to do with Google, and Google is ALL that matters. It's a marketing gimmick invented by Moz as their version of PR and it's inaccurate to say the least. Many heavily spammed sites have great Moz metrics but don't rank anywhere in Google.

Use your head. If a site looks well laid out with decent content and has links from real sites....that's all you need to know.

DA and PA is based on nothing but links to a site. BUT, why do you want to improve it for? No search engine uses PA or DA as a ranking metric.

 

Moz developed it because they saw a niche opening after Google abandoned PageRank in Nov 2013.

DA attempts to predict the power the site has for ranking well in Google by using machine learning techniques. They're using around 40 signals to determine the score.

DA basically mostly tells you about link juice and the quality of your positions in Google SERPs, which may or may not be coming from other SEO factors which are part of Google's engine and not part of DA's engine.

Last but not least, DA doesn't affect how much does Google trust you but measures how much does Google trust you. Two different things.
