It's a simple collaboration between those two systems - you can automatically tweet your Linkedin status and on the other hand automatically forward your tweets to your Linkedin contacts.

It's all a load of rubbish if you ask me - Linkedin is for professionals to communicate with each other, Twitter is for kids who have nothing better to do with their time than tell the world about their every move (no offense intended toward the few people out there who use twitter for other purposes). Why on earth would anybody want those two entirely different social networks combined? Go figure ...

It's a necessary evil today to interlink as many social platforms as you can, but the purpose of Twitter, Facebook, Linked In and most other Networking sites for me is to get people to my website, not to send them bouncing around to all of my Social Profiles.

I think it's kinda cool but I'll admit I'm skeptical too. I talk about lots of things on Twitter both professional and personal. I don't want personal things posted on my LinkedIn profile. There is an option when you connect your account that let's you only update your LinkedIn status from Twitter when you include the hashtag #in - so there's that.

I think it will be beneficial in that there are some people I'm connected to on LinkedIn that I'm not following on Twitter but would like to be. Also, sometimes there are connections made based on Tweets. It has the potential to muddy the waters on LinkedIn, though.

actually only 18% of Twitter users would fall in your "kids" stereotype & that's stretching it IMO ;) (18-24)
    Kids IMO are under 13...

We will have to wait and see how everything pans out.

I'm most excited about Twitter results showing up in Bing and Google. That will be awesome!
