Cybersource vs Authorize.net vs PayPal Web Pro Plus

    Hi,

I am planning on using a payment gateway. My site is going to be subscription based so I was looking at Cybersource, Authorize.net, or PayPal Web Pro Plus. Has anyone used any one of these. I know that Cybersource recently purchased Authorize.net, did it change the service. Which is more reliable.

    Any comments will be helpfull:)

I'm a big fan of Authorize.Net as it is very easy to integrate into a website and reliable. Pricing will vary by reseller but if you spend some time shopping around you'll be sure to find a great deal.

I was pretty close to going with Authorize.net but there were a few things that it was missing. Authorize doesnt have a great fraud prevention system (unless it has changed recently) and it didn't integrate Paypal as a option in the checkout. 2checkout offers this.

Authorize.net is in the top 2 merchant options along with 2checkout which is why we developed our e-commerce flash cart to accept:

    1. Paypal
    2. Authorize.net
    3. 2checkout

That's because Authorize.Net and 2checkout are two totally different things. 2checkout is a payment processor and Authnet is a payment gateway. You'll get much better rates using a true merchant account with Authnet every single time. That makes doing your own Paypal integration worth doing.
