I first heard this term about a week ago from a marketing newsletter. Apparently 'Cyber Monday' is the Monday after the big Christmas shopping weekend. Everyone returns to work and finishes up their holiday shopping online. Have you heard of this? If so, what special preparations are you making for the big day?
There's not much you can do right now. Really, if Christmas is a big thing for your sites then you should be preparing for it months ahead. By this, I mean making sure your site ranks well for the appropriate keywords, that you've optimized your layout, that you've created holiday-themed content, that you've placed advertisements to draw people to your site, etc. You should definitely look things over and make sure everything's in place, but the groundwork should have been done ages ago. And if your audience is international, the US Thanksgiving holiday won't be a big deal.
I agree, Eric. By the way, I looked for your book at Borders the other day. They had 81 AS related books on their computer, and not a one in stock. Sweet.
This brings up a good point... if you're not in the USA, how do you know when to start shopping for Christmas?
I blogged about Cyber Monday yesterday. Not sure if that's where you read about it. I have more indepth info and some articles about it. But when I read this I did wonder about Adwords and if some sharp people would be pumping bids and adding KW for this.
