    Hi,

When you do a search for Final Fantasy, you get a Refine results for final fantasy: block above the results.

When you click on one of the options to refine your results (News, screenshots, Cheats, Downloads, etc) a cx=computer_video_games parameter is added. Strangle the cx (category extension?) parameter stays there even when you type a different query. Even the results get labeled.

With the cx parameter in place, you can even search for different terms with refined results, like dvd recorders more:reviews

Does anyone know any different CX values ?

They are refinement labels through google co-op. In my opinion the terms I checked severely skewed towards the people labelling them and the results for quite a few things were totally irrelevant - and obscure to say the least.

I pointed this out in the co-op google group and had some results removed as they enabled potential malware to get promoted - therefore a hidden malware flag can now be attributed (though not sure by who - it might still be added only by google employees when they get notified about it).

The idea was good but results haven't really improved as some people have got into co-op very early and 'earned' a trustworthy expert rating that has meant they can artificially boost obscure sites in the main google index.
