Okay, so its 2007, its a new year, and yet everywhere I look I see webmasters and affiliates practicing the same things. Link exchange this, directory submit that; I’ve even gotten a few emails from totally non-related sites asking for ME to link to them. This makes no sense people. So what I am going to try to do with this post, is get you back up to speed because most of you seem to be stuck in a time-warp.

For starters, Link Development in itself is becoming old. Sure getting some solid backlinks from high PR sites is always going to be a good thing. But when it comes down to it, its really all about Traffic Development now. The search engine algorithms of today are much more sophisticated than there were in years past, and it is for this reason that we need to take a more traffic oriented marketing approach.

So how do I develop traffic?

Ive compiled a list of the best ways in which to go about generating traffic for the new year, and no, myspace spamming is not one of them.

Feel free to leave your comments & suggestions for my post on cutting edge link development - available here
