After analyzing Valve's "sale" weekend on the Steam digital product (games) distribution platform, I am going to make an experiment. Valve reported over 300% sales increase on 50% discounted products. And over 1000% sales increase on products with discounts over 75%. So as an experiment, I am cutting the price for my products by 50% for the weekend. I want to wake up tomorrow and see a huge sales increase.
I've actually seen a slight increase in my conversion rate by increasing my price from $57 to $77... I think it depends so much on the niche... and a lot of other factors. So yes... it all comes down to testing. Good luck - I'll be curious to see your results.
Increasing your price increases the amount your affiliates make, which also brings in more affiliates, which means more advertising, which means more sales.
@mynameisdi Why don't you offer a discount after your prospects enter a coupon code (eg: infoproductkiller.com). As an affiliate, it has really made me loads of sales simply 'coz of the fact that people have to "enter a coupon" to get the product for cheap.
You must check how much the conversion rates increased and not the actual sales volume (since more sales can just mean more affiliates - like the other guy's said)
Please let us know. From my experience, raising price hurts sales, especially for digital products unless you do drastic changes in your pitch and graphics.
Sorry for the late update guys. So imho you should not try to multiply your sales at CB by lowering the product price. At least it didn't work with my products. Apparently people value something more when it costs more.. and are more willing to buy it.
Pricing is very important, too low and people relate price to quality and if its too high they will debate whether the product is actually "worth it"
