I am starting a digital music download site. I would like to know if there are any programs out there that can 'extract' a random 30 sec clip of that song in mp3 format? would like to do this in a batch fashion since im ripping and tagging the artists albums.

    Thanks!

Audacity can extract parts of an music file, but you have to select what part you want to extract.

yeah no softwares available as of now that will automate the process u got to do it manually - sony sound forge will be my pick though. u can make a script for extracting the first 30 secs of a song - then save it. and run it manually every time you are opening a file.
