Hi, When building a text link for the amazon associates program, they told me to use the following code: If i change the above code into this: Will it still work and earn me money when someone clicks on it and buys the product? Thanks very much in advance.
I believe it will. I added a "Samsung HL-S4666W 46" DLP HDTV" to my shopping cart using the above url to access Amazon. Please let us know if it shows up as an order tomorrow?
Ash, yes this will work and you will receive credit for purchases. The image at the end is the impression tracking bitmap that allows amazon to report how many impressions of various link types you use on your site are generated. This allows you to see your click-through rate. This information appears on Associates Central when you login. If you remove the image, Amazon will no longer be able to track impressions and you will not see your click-through rate. If this information is not valuable to you or you are recording your impressions in a different way, go ahead and remove that image.
Nope i never got an order from that. I did get an order for one book and one music soundtrack yesterday but thats it.
You don't get credit for an order when it is simply added to the shopping cart. You have to make the purchase. However, the good news is that if you've added it to the cart within the 24 hours of clicking to Amazon from the associate site, the associate will receive credit if the item is purchased within the 90-day period of being added to the cart.
Gene, that means if I remove the image, I will get only purchase report, Right? As long as I have a right url, I still get the commision. Am I correct?
