I noticed that adsense guru Joel Comm uses a customized Google search box at his site http://www.worldvillage.com/ He left out the Google logo (or the alternative: the text 'search google' on the search button) and it seems he also managed to sneak in two extra ad units at the top of the results pages. I'd like to do the same with my site, but I wonder, is it allowed?
I mailed support complaining about the lack of options for the search box and they said they'd pass on my suggestions but in the meantime I was not allowed to make any changes whatsoever to the code.
I would imagine that Joel is a premium AdSense publisher, which gives him a lot of latitude on making changes to the look of the adsense ads displayed on his site. Unfortunately for the rest of use AdSense publishers, we are not allowed to do much with the AdSense code.
I see, that must be it. It surprises me btw that his sites are so butt ugly. I guess good web design is not that important. I feel stupid; I've been designing my new site for a month now and it's still not finished.. Meanwhile he's making 25k a month with his sites that can't have taken more than a few days to design..
its proven that dodgey sites work better with adsense, look at the adsense on his page the left hand side that would have great CTR on it....he blends it into the table great... if it was a hell custom side nav table then integration is no chance
customizing the adsense codes breaks google term . i think the site that you concern is a premium member
hello...it seems u guys are not aware of this, but google customized search engine is now available..I guess I'l have to start a thread on that...
are you sure becuase I tried to customoise one a like a month ago and took out the google term form it and got into some trouble.
